Kids on the Internet Educational and Exhibition Project
Kids on the Internet, Educational and Exhibition Project, is a complex of educational events including interactive exhibitions and a series of lesson for junior schoolchildren.
The project is implemented by MTS Communication Service Provider together with the Foundation for Internet Development supported by the Ministry of Communications and Mass Media of the RF, Ministry of Education and Science of the RF, Safe Internet League, and involves Google, and a number of other partners. Objective of the project is to inform children, parents, and teachers about potential risks of using the Internet, ways of protections against network threats and useful opportunities of the Global Network for education, development, communication, and leisure time.
From December 2011 to February 2012 over 50,000 people, children and their parents, visited Kids on the Internet Exhibition in the Polytechnic Museum. In 2012 exhibitions were held in Moscow (in the Russian State Children’s Library), in Saint Petersburg, Sverdlovsk and Ulyanovsk regions. In 2013 exhibitions were arranged in Arkhangelsk and Lipetsk. Lessons of the useful and safe Internet were held in over 20 regions: Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Voronezh, Vladimir, Ryazan, Sverdlovsk, Chelyabinsk, Tyumen, Kurgan, Samara, Tambov, Orenburg, Amur regions, Zabaikalie, Perm, Krasnoyarsk, Primorski, Khabarovsk Territories, Jewish Autonomous Region, Republic of Buryatia, and Marij El Republic. In 2011-2012 over 250,000 people participated in the project.
